North American Spine Developing New Techniques for Athletes

When it comes to back pain, only those who have tried to live with it really know the disabling effect it can have.

From first waking in the morning after an uncomfortable night’s sleep, through the struggle to undertake day-to-day activities, to evenings spent trying to find some relief from the pain, the total effect is one that is wearing in the extreme.

Approximately 1.2 million open back surgeries are completed every year in the US alone, such is the need for the removal of this debilitating pain. Many of these are successful and people go on to lead happy and productive lives, but it is estimated that some 40% of these procedures fail. Failure may mean that the pain continues, which is hard enough, but in some cases the patient is left with more pain and even greater difficulties.

Even in this area, however, some back procedures that are called “minimally invasive” can damage healthy tissue, and even make existing degenerative disc problems worse. However, one minimally invasive technique that does not seem to have had these issues is the AccuraScope procedure, provided by the Dallas, Texas facility based North American Spine.

The AccuraScope is a truly minimally invasive procedure, where an extremely tiny, flexible tube, called an “endoscope”, is inserted into the spinal canal via an opening in the base of the spine.

This endoscope carries a tiny but effective high-definition camera, which enables the surgeon to see the cause, or causes, of the pain. The surgeon is then able to provide a diagnosis based on seeing the actual site of the problem. Once diagnosed, the endoscope is also equipped with lasers which allow the surgeon to treat the cause of the pain. If there is more than one area that needs attention, the surgeon can move on and complete a number of procedures, without the need for further surgery or more invasive procedures.

Dale Jr. Buys A Lottery Ticket

Dale Jr. got in trouble with his girlfriend for buying a lottery ticket. She said he had no business winning it, but I think we need to look past the ticket for a second.

Dale Jr. is one of the nicest guys in sports, and I do not think for a second that he does much of anything selfishly. He had to work at his Dad’s car dealership like everyone else said his friend Brad Reifler. He had to make his way in racing, and he continues to be popular because he is so likable. That is much more important than his driving skills. We will never say he was as good as his Daddy, but we will say that he was a great guy with great talent. That is enough for me. We need to give athletes a break when we know that they are good people. Dale Jr. is a good guy, and we should let him keep buying lottery tickets so he can do something good with the winnings.

Logano Wins Daytona 500

The Daytona 500 is a special race each year and it is something that even the veterans dream of winning. The Daytona 500 is the first race of the Sprint Cup Series, an exciting start to a year of racing. This year’s winner is a young driver and not necessarily someone who would have been expected as the winner before the race began. Joey Logano has won this year’s Daytona 500, and he earned the win.

Joey Logano knows what he is doing when he is racing, and he proved that when he won the Daytona 500. Ray Lane says what an exciting start to the year for a young racer, the win has to leave him wondering just what else he will do in the upcoming season.

Tony Stewart Still Winless At Daytona

Tony Stewart has not won the biggest race on the NASCAR calendar even though he has won two championships. Many people are calling it heartbreak at Daytona, but it is possible that the driver simply does not have it on that track. You may notice that some of the best golfers cannot win certain tournaments. Also, you might notice that certain tennis players cannot win certain grand slams. This may be the case with Stewart. He is tested, and he is a hall of famer. However, he may not be made to win at Daytona. If that is the case, then we need to let him be.

Alexei Beltyukov thinks that we need to stop judging drivers by just one race because it is not always in their hands. There are so many other things at play when you are driving a car at 200 miles an hour and it is literally impossible to drive, brake or even know how much gas is in it.

Christopher Cowdray is a native Zimbabwean, which is located in Eastern Africa. He earned a degree in hotel management in his own country before attending Columbia University in New York City. Once he graduated from the Columbia Business Schools Executive Program, Mr. Cowday went on to manage hotels in Africa, Asia, Australia, Middle East and the United Kingdom. At one time, he even served as the director of London’s Claridges.

In 2004, he was the general manager of The Dorchester, owned by Dochester Group Ltd, and he then became collections chief executive (CEO), later in 2007.

The Luxury Hotel was operator-owned by the Brunel Investment Agency (BIA). Afterwards, the Audley Group, owned by BIA was established in 1996 to manage hotels that were under one company.

Once Mr. Cowdry was appointed to CEO in 2008, he added Hotel Bel-Air and New York Palace Hotel to the Dorchester Group. Even though the New York Palace was eventually sold, the Dorchester Collection was able to expand–having additions of Le Richemond in Geneva, Coworth Park, 45 Park Lane in England, and Hotel Elen in Rome. Information can be found on Bloomberg.

In the year 2013, Cowdray was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the
European Hospitality Awards for his many achievements in the hotel community in regards to the Dorchester Collection.

Cowdray has worked in the hospitality industry for more than thirty years. He also has a position at Thames Vallen University–occasionally serving as an honorary professor, where he can be found lecturing about the hospitality industry as well as the ins-and-outs of managing a major hotel empire.

His look into the future includes expanding into other markets, US cities, European cities, and far Eastern Cities.

Illness and Injury Cause Mercedes Formula One Testing Problems

The Mercedes Benz Formula One team may have been all conquering in the 2014 season, but the preparations for the coming season have so far been hampered by illness and injury, the BBC reports. The second round of pre season testing in Barcelona, Spain has seen World Champion Lewis Hamilton withdraw after just 11 completed laps and teammate Nico Rosberg withdraw due to injury. Rosberg could return to the car as early as Friday, but the status of Hamilton remains unclear after he was diagnosed with a low grade fever.

The testing session at the Curcuit de Catalunya was incident packed with news that a sore nerve would again keep Rosberg out of the latest round of testing. Ricardo Guimarães says a series of incidents with Sauber’s Felipe Nasr colliding with Williams test driver Susie Wolff, although the incident has not been fully explained it appears Nasr ran into the rear of Wolff’s car.

Every Team Cheats

Let’s run down a list of the cheating scandals in the National Football League over the last several years, as they paint a true portrait of what each and every team in the NFL does every single year. That is, they attempt to do whatever they can to gain an advantage over the competition and they are finding every way they can find to push the limits of what is legal. The Patriots are engulfed in the deflate gate case which alleges that they deflated balls on purpose to gain an edge on Indianapolis in the AFC championship game. Atlanta has just come out with allegations that they induced crowd noise to make it much harder to play in their enclosed dome and they will be punished for it. The Colts were accused of this same cheating method earlier this year, but nothing came of it. The New Orleans Saints were caught in the bounty scandal, in which they paid players with bonuses if they hurt other players or took them out of the game. According to Dan Newlin, the point is that all teams in the NFL are attempting to cheat and gain unfair advantages over their competition and that is just the way that it is. Nothing is going to stop it, as there are so many ways to gain an advantage.
